Near Hickman’s Bridge 6 miles from Nicholasville Ky. June 6^th 1863 Dear Father We reached here just now 10 o’c AM & as the Post master is going back to Nicholasville thought I would say we ar all right. Shall write soon more in detail Pleasant camp just opening my things. Horse in fine condition while some ½ doz officers horses gave out. Write me at Nicholasville until I find out where we get our mail. Brig. Genl. Fry, who killed Zollicoffer is in command at present. Bvt Genl. Burnside expects to make this his head quarters.
