About the Author

John Scutt enlisted as a Private in the 3rd Michigan Cavalry Company M on February 24, 1864 at Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was mustered into service at the age of 33 on February 25. John Scutt was discharged from service on February 12, 1866 at San Antonio, Texas.
