George Holbrook enlisted as a Private in the 1st Michigan Light Artillery Batty F on November 19, 1861. He was mustered into service on January 9, 1862 and was later promoted to Quartermaster Sergeant. His other promotions included: Junior 2nd Lieutenant, September 1, 1862; Junior 1st Lieutenant, September 2, 1863; and, Senior 1st Lieutenant, March 15, 1865. Holbrook was also listed as being wounded in Perryville, Kentucky. George Holbrook was discharged from service on January 10.Documents for this Author:
