Dear Father
Yours of the 20th
came to hand day before yester-
day while we was out on pickett,
should of answered it yesterday
but I did not get time!
I did say Wing was coming home
but I doubt it now he wrote
the other day that he was coming
back to the Regiment. as long
as they keep us in the field &
in the front at that no
well man can get a furlow &
I cant play up sick very well.
I would like to come from
on a visit first rate but it is
I have said they want evry avail-
able man out here not back
in Michigan they do no good
there! I am glad that my money
has got home all right I did
not expect it would. we signed
the pay rolls yesterday & will
probably get our pay in a few
days again for two months.
March & April! I reckon they are
all agoing to die off in Homer
this summer.
there is no news to write I
suppose you know that we
have got Vicksburg & a large
number of prisnors that is
the report in yesterdays paper
& confirmed in to days paper
I hope it is so. I hope to hear
in your next that Delia
Champion is better what is
E. G. Champion doing & where is he.
also Ira Hutchinson I have not
heard from them in a long
while! there is no more news.
give my love to all, this leaves
me in the finest kind of
spirits well
[ ? ] tough &
[ ? ]
& I hope it may find you
all well. we are having very hot
weather the roads are awful dusty
Jake Prine started for home
the other day he will call and
see you he said he was agoing
to do so. no more this time
write often
Yours Truly
