About the Author
On August 23, 1862, Private Henry Carleton enlisted at the age of 28 in the 18th Michigan Infantry Company A at Hudson, Michigan. He was mustered into service on August 26 and was later promoted to Corporal. Carleton was taken prisoner on September 24, 1864 at Athens, Alabama. Henry Carleton died as a prisoner of war at an undisclosed location and date.Documents for this Author:
