About the Author

James A. Wilson enlisted at the age of 19 in the 3rd Michigan Infantry Company I on August 30, 1864 at Brighton, Michigan. He was mustered into service on September 7 as a Private and was later promoted to Corporal. On March 25, 1866, Wilson was promoted to Sergeant. James A. Wilson was discharged from service on May 25 at Victoria, Texas.
