Private Edward H. Ives resided in Almont, Michigan when he enlisted in the 1st Michigan Cavalry Company L. He enlisted at the age of 24 on August 14, 1861 and was mustered into service on September 6. On November 27, 1863, he was captured at Morton’s Ford, Virginia. Edward H.
