Without any hard feelings I want you to write to me. I know you shall. I shall get a transfer into the Navy and then I will come home a few days. We are not in a brigade yet nor drilled enough so we will not go into pits with the rest of them. We are lying in camp. We shall be put on detached duty until we get drilled. I am anxious to hear form home. Write as soon as you get this. Tell me all the particulars of what is going on there. When I write to you again I will write all the news. As soon as I get a letter from you I will write again. This is from one that wishes you well. From your brother Amos Gibbs to Oliver
