We are on one way to Tuscaloosa, I believe, having left Chickasaw on the morning of 22nd Tough times for a month or two. I suppose, and this will probably be the last opportunity I shall have for writing in some time, as to- day we send back our forage wagons. We are cutting loose from the North again, and are diving into Dixie. Some think we will bring up at Mobile and some at Chattanooga. I incline to the latter opinion We have with us about ten thousand fighting new, (three Divisions of Cavalry,) and the mod- ern improvements thereto appertaining such as artillery & pontoon bridges. With one H’d Qrs we also have a reporter for the N. Y. Herald; so look in that delectable sheet for the latest news from us. Give my love to Mother and Madge. I will write when I can. Good bye.
