Know ye, that  John Appleton
a Sergeant                    of Captain  Daniel M Moor
Company, (G ),  First              Regiment of     Mich Engres + Mechs
Volunteers, who was enrolled on the Twenty-fourth   day of December
one thousand eight hundred and Sixty-two     to serve Three  years or
during the war, is hereby DISCHARGED from the service of the United States
this Twenty second                  day of  September       , 1865  , at Nashville
Tennessee                    by reason of S. O. No, 65. Dept Tennessee
(No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exists*)

Said  John Appleton                was born in  Leeds
in the State of  England           , is Thirty nin   years of age,
five    feet  nine  inches high,  Fair    complexion, Hazel      eyes
Dark   hair, and by occupation, when enrolled, a       Carpenter
