About the Author
Sylvester Dyer was residing in Almena, Michigan when he enlisted in the 1st Michigan Engineers Company G on October 18, 1861 at Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was mustered into service as an 18-year-old Private on October 29. He was later promoted to Corporal and then to Sergeant on an undisclosed day. Sylvester Dyer was discharged from service on October 31, 1864 at Atlanta, Georgia. He died on April 2, 1903 at Chesaning, Michigan.Documents for this Author:
