George L. Arnold enlisted as a Private in the 2nd Michigan Cavalry Company E on August 31, 1864 at Jackson, Michigan. He was mustered into service at the age of 27 on September 12. Arnold was listed as joining his regiment on September 10 at Nashville, Tennessee. On June 1, 1865, he was promoted to Corporal. George L.
