Regiment: 9th Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Knoxville Tenn Febuary Satuday 20/64 Dear Cosin Lucina I received your most welcome letter and was Glad to hear from you again Lucina I had the pleasure of meating with an old friend of mine I was lying on my bed fast asleep the first thing I knew I was lying on the floor on rooling over and [chewed away] my eyes open who did I see but hal I was Glad to see him wee had a Good visit that afternoon and that evening he came over the next day to see me again wee talked over old times and had quite a laugh they are camped on the other side of the river he has been over here three times and I am going over to see him this afternoon hol looks tough and naturel as ever. they are trying to get out battery to reenlist as vetrans I cant tell whether I shall enlist or not it is pleasant weather here Daytime but nights it is cold I would like to see you all very well and have A good visit with you if I enlist it wont bee long [chewed away] there is a good many of [chewed away] troups here at this place they are fixing for a fight they expectto have a hard fight here before long wall let them come wee are ready for them any time they wish to light on Lucian I cant think of much to rite this time soo I will close for this time rite as soon as you get this I remain as ever your Friend and well wisher For ever M L B Lucian Wisor
