Regiment: 9th Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: ky Camp near Standford August the 8 1863 Wall my dear and beloved wife i now set my self down to rite a few lines to you to let you know how i am and how i git a long i am well at present and hope these few lines may find you the same wall Sina i recived that paper and was glad to git it and the money and stamps they came all rite i can rite all the spare time i git wall Sina we marched all nite last nite and this fore noon and reach this place and camped hear for a while then we are a a goin to tennessee we are on our way there the place whare we are a going is called Comberlin Gap you can stop of riting till you hear from me a gain for the letters want come there drect ky so i will rite and tell you whare i am all the time so you can know Sina i recived your letter last nite after we started it was dated the 28 of last month wall you can see munt and he will tell you how i was and Sina you wanted to know what i don with the letters i got from you i keep every one of them wall now Sina you can give my love to all espciley your father and mother and lorey jane and all of your folks and mine tell them i am coming soon to be ther my self and then i will make them sorow they ever see me but they cant help ther self i will rare like a steer in a corn field tell Salley and jake i thank them for ther respect to me i hant for goton them them but have not had the means to rite to them i feel glad to think they say a word in your letters i like to hear from anyone in our parts of our folks Sina i wish i be ther to git some of them chickens in your fathers barn and have them make in to a pot pye i think i could eat some of them Sina rite and tell me if you do not think this ware is not all most to it last legs i the news is good wall Sina i must close for this time and you will rite soon as you hear from me a gain so good by for this time this is from A.
