Wall my dear and beloved
wife i now set my
self down to rite a
few lines to you to let
you know how i am and
how i git a long i am
well at present and
hope these few lines may
find you the same wall
Sina i recived that
paper and was glad to git
it and the money and
stamps they came all rite
i can rite all the
spare time i git
wall Sina we marched
all nite last nite and
this fore noon and reach
this place and camped hear
for a while then we are a
a goin to tennessee we are
on our way there the place
whare we are a going is called
Comberlin Gap
you can stop of riting
till you hear from me

recived your letter last
nite after we started it
was dated the 28 of last
