June the 18th /63 On the first page of the paper you will find an account of the late attact on this place of whitch I gave you an account in a former letter Colonel Campbell of the 2nd Michigan is now acting Brig. Gen. of our Brigade and Major Godly formly Captain isn ow in Command of the Reg. there has been same new arrangement lately they have been forming a new army Corps and the whole of our Brigade is in it it is to be called the reserve Corps and they say we ar to be sent back to Ky. if this is the case we will not get a Chance to se the butternuts so often for a while we as to be under the Command of Major Gen Garder Granger the first Colonel the 2nd Mich. ever had I wrote a letter to Sib to day No more at present pleas let me know if you get this from your Nephew John Wasson 8 O Clock P.M. I forgot to tell you we wer all well
