I am well and so is all of the boys at present how does Ella get along & harvey and all of the rest I dont know when we shall leave here they talk some of sending us to Detroit to stay untill the second regiment gets ready but I hope not for I want to go right washington from here has pa gone to Detroit yet he was calculating to go to day I dont think we will go away before next week. we have got our shirts and drawers & our shoes and stocking so we live pretty comfortably now there is about 100 tents on the ground now & 6 or 7 hundred horses there is calculated to be 8 hundred by to morrow there is agoing to be a picnic here on the ground then their is going to be 8 hundred uniformed the and ride their horses we had a good supper on the cars when we came Frank had a mince pie and Hank & Ira lots of cake. I will have to close my letter for Mr Darrow is calling for me to go on guard all day and night I am going to write to lib to morrow morning Yours truly      CH Potter Rapids
