Rosecrans Nashville, Tennessee June 14th, 1863 Dear Wife I again take this opertunity of writing to you I think my duty to write to you all though some considerable time has elapsed Since I received a leter from eather you or Walter But as you cannot write for Yourself I cannot Blame you for not writing to me But I hope you will get some body to write for you for I want to hear from you again I am hapy to inform you that I am well and hope these few lines will find you all they same George Owen is getting beter again hee is abble to walk around a little again and I trust hee will soon bee able for duty again he had they intimating feaver But it is Brake up on him now George Owen and I received they box that Jane and you sent to us all safe and sound Every thing was as nice as they day it was sent from home I was very glad it came for George cold not eat any thing we got heare for Uncle Sam do not furnish Cake and sutch things as was in they box They Tobaco is Exelant it came in they right time for I neather had tobaco nor money I do not know how long it will bee before Wee shall bee paid again they will owe us four months pay they last of this month They weather is very hot hear now tell Herid Charter that George and I both join in thanking her for they cake shee sent to us and I hope shee will live to see this Rebelion put down and they time when we can both return home and thank her ourselves I often look forward for they time to come when this war will bee brought to a close If you was hear to see they number of men that are passing through this City in Route to Murfreesboro thare is some days from one thousand to five a week All they troops are on they towards the frount they Rebbels have I supose given up all hopes of Captured Nashville But they have beeing trying to capturing Franklin and triening Prisoners Our men hung two spies at Frnklin they came to they fort and told they Comander they Ware inspecting oficer sent by General Rosecrans to inspect they fourt they oficer in Command sent to Rosey to know if hee had sent them thare Hee sent word back to try them and if found guilty to hang them reight off One was a Coronel and they a Adjuant Belong to the Rebble Army Both drest in Federal Uniform .
