Regiment:  Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Byren June 12 1861 Dear brother and sister i take my pen in harnd to answer youre leter and you must excuse me for not writing before this leaves us all well and i hope it will finde you the same i whish you all could come out hear this summer and make a good visit you could come for half prise the forth of july dont no as i can think of eny news to write for we doant hear mutch but was hear and i suppose it is the same thare we heard thare was fifteen hundred injins within forty miles off the rapids and they cant find out what thetr are intending to do some some say they are aging to half the north and others say they are bribed by the south they wouldant tel what they are a going to do thare was awful times with the wimen and children when the soldiers left and some of them felt as bad as the women we expect Susan out the first of july mother is out to almires and her health is very poor sins she came from detroit you must wright soon this is from youre moste afectionate brother and sister Sarah and Samuel Jones
