Dear friend
I take plasure in
Writing to you and hope you
will not be afended with me
fore not writing before it is becau
se I cant git paper stamps and so fourth
as we wish we are now flying artilery
all the diference there is between
light artilery and flying artilery is
the
[ ? ] of light
[ ? ] walks and
flying artilery all has horses ad
keep with the cavery and the other
keeps with it. Some thinks
[ ? ]
Both one there are not. This being the
first you will please excuse all hasty
words and mistakes. I will now try and
give you alitle sketch of the ware
news. It reads as folows Charleston
is evaculated and Willington
and all of the outer forts
general sherman is cooperations with
general grant and will soon be in
richmond. peace strongly talked of
Jeff Davison says if mr lincolen wan
t taken his hed and all the leadi
ng men surender all up to aberham
but Le sends back word nothing But
an unconditional surender and his hed
and all of the ledding men
While as soon as you get these few humly lines of
it is
