Ark March 14 65
Dear
I received yours of March 4
65 last night and hasten a reply
this leaves me well & all of the
rest of Co “C” We received or
ders to move last night and
now they have sent all of our
camp equipage to the railr
oad to night We go down the river
most likely to New Orleans
but cant tell. Direct to 3 Mich
Cavl Co “C” as before via Cairo
and then I will get them We have
no pay yet & cant say when we
will it is only 5 months from
today an then I hope they can
halt and right dress
I was glad to hear that Dan
was going to sell the place for you
know that it never would do us as
much good as now I want you to
be shure and see to the place and not
have any of the trees in the yard spot
ted I tell you I hate the move at
this stage of the game but I am
willing to do all I can to bring this
war to a close while I am down here
for I think it is the duty of all here and
at home too I was sory to hear
of Mothers poor health this I will say
dont let any thing worry you mother
and cheer up for they say it is the
darkest before day
You will have to excuse
