Regiment: 2nd Michigan Cavalry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Lebanon KY No 3 Hospitel November 23rd 1862 Miss Clarra I was much splendid with your letter that just came to hand 22 I was not whare I could fit it as soon as it came to the Co I was back to a private house and the letter went to the Co and it did not git it till day before yesterday and I could not ancer it sooner I am glad to hear that you injoye your self so well and I hope you will halve a great time this winter I should if I was thare stay riding and other ways that yong folks should enjoye in such a blessfull Country as you halve thare I would not live in the south if they would five the lull of it all thar I like Kentucy vary well but the negro is what I do not like [  ?  ] thare is no enter- price hear like thare is thare thare is some fine people hear as ever lived in the world I staid at such a plase they did not want everything for my staying with them i gave them five dollars and when I came a way, they did not know it, nor did I for I came down in a silkey and my campney was hear and they would not let me go back again and my brother took the rig haveand they would not take a bent frame me and the old gentlemen came down to see me and he went and seen my Dr to dat me go some with him and the Dr said that he would let me go in a few days as soon as he could exsamen my case how I wish that I was thare now if not anylonger then I got well but that would be of no youst of thinking of such a thing but if i don’t git better soon I shall apply for a discharge and if I can I shall any how go I halve bin a soldier long enough it is to hard for me I should like to shout a few more of them brother nuts but then I can star it if it never sec one of them again time brings changes, and changes brings difrent seays all three ones life, but months rolles am and that to years and evry year numbers are more to our age and [     ?     ] our lifes that much and the direct Co A 2nd Mich Cav Hospital No 3 Lebanon year has made a grait chary with me for the [     ?     ] while you halve bin groing stronger and [     ?     ] and in every thing better in your favor no need of you growing any larger then you was when I see you last, but must tell you about that letter that you spoke of one night I was in ware Rass was and sais to me [   ?   ] write mary a letter for fun and see what she will say and I wroat a few lines in the letter and I did not know whether he sent it or not nor did not care ask hir to let you see it and see what I said to hir and you wont blame hir for telling it, write soon yours with love Ira Graves Clarra [On Envelope:] Miss Clarra [     ?     ] Watrousville [  ?  ] Tuscola Co Mich
