Regiment: 28th Michigan Infantry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: College Hill Hospital Elder Blowers who took care of me when I was sick took cold when I did but was not down sick. But last Friday he was taken with the irisiples and on Tuesday morning (January 10th) he died. I was with him on Monday and done all I could for him. I did not know that he was sick until Monday. He was neglected and not cared for or he might have got well. He got a box from home when I was sick. He told me that it was a coming and I should share it with him and when I went to see him he gave me a can of current preserves. And the next morning he died. I could not stay with him. I had to get a pass to go and see him. I would have liked to stay with him for he was a father to me when I was sick and I owed him for keeping me out of the grave. I don’t know of anything more that would interest you, so I will bid now good bye for the present time. Direct your letter to General Hospital number 2, Section 6, tent 5, Nashville, Tenn. Will write to you soon. God bless you all.
