Regiment: 4th Michigan Reorganized Infantry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Head Quarters 4th Mich Infantry In Camp 4 miles South of Huntsville Ala Jan 18th 1865 Dear Parents we Broke Camp at Murfreesboro on the 15th at 3 P.M. and arived at Stevenson at 4 am. the next morning and had to wate there till 9 P.M. that night on the acount of a train that was of the track the next morning at 3 we arived at woodsville a small town 35 miles from Huntsville and had to wate ther till 1 oclock the train that went ahead of us ran of the track and smashed up 2 cars we arived in Huntsville about 4 oclock and marched onto here we have got orders to put up 2 winter quarters here we are on the top of the mountain in a splendid place we will probaly stay here some time We are Brigaded now and I hope it will stay so this time we are in the 3 Brigade 3 division 4 army Core Head Quarters at Huntsville I heard since I came here that Ed Wisner arived at Murfreesboro about the time we left there I would of liked to of seen him. and had him settle with me for sending Peirce remanes home I will send the Bill to you the next time I write.
