In accordance with your request
to furnish a report of the noncommissioned
officers and privates of Co. E. who have distinguished
themselves by meritorious and gallant conduct
I can heartily recommend to your most
favorable notice 1st Sergt. Wm. H. Fisher who is
always prompt and efficient in the discharge of
his duty and was by his coolness and bravery
at the battle of Gettysburg enabled to render
much assistance in leading the Company into
the charge and afterwards in rallying it.
In all the engagements in which the company
