Regiment: 1st U.S. Volunteers Sharpshooters Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Love Grand Rapids. July 13th 1865. My Own Dear Gardie. Loved Husband. I am thinking of my boy this evening and wonder if he is thinking of his little wify and would give anything to see her to night. would I not be happy if he could take me in his arms and love me. ‘twould be all heart could wish for. Nearly two years we have been married. how many happy hours we have passed together in that time. and how often I think of the many times I have been cross and hatefull to my dear good Hus- band. O Gardie I can never forgive myself. Cinda is here yet. she intends to go home next week and is very anxious that I should go with her and make Miss Kegen another visit, but I hardly think I shall. I saw Jim Jones up to Mr Stowells to day. he got home last night. Annies large picture of Captain Lothian which she was expecting last spring came a few days ago. it is a very nice picture but is not what I thought it was going to be. Love and much kisses. Love your WifyMary. [On Envelope:] Lt. Gardner B. Clark. 6th Regt. 1st A.C. Washington. D.C.
