At this rate
I shall not be home again

fast as I can. not that I am
endeavoring to be considered
a fast young man. But the
Railroads run for the accomoda=
tion of Hotel Keepers.
I tried last
night to find Brittania but
one may as well look for gold
or any other good thing. as
try to find a particular person
in a large city unless they have
their names in the Directory
I have just found some better
ink but back hand is most
played out
There are some of the
26th Michigan stopping here
on their way home on furlough
among the number is the Maj
dont know his name.
I find that I could
get $1050, as a veteran in New
York City one year but I dont
believe I shall be obliged to go
in the Army.
I have to stay here
until eight oclock to-morrow
morning.
There is a man stopping
here who is general agent for
several first class steel Engravings
among them is one of the Washington
family a splendid thing. he wants
agents. his retail price is three
and a half for the Washington
family, half that to agents. another
picture he has “Home on Furlough”
and “Christ blessing little children”.
I could make two or three dollars
a day at that for they are things
that will be wanted by nearly
every family and they have not
been introduced yet in
Michigan.
