Regiment: 4th Michigan Calvary Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Near Murfreesboro May 24 My dear Davidson I can write but a line as I have a chance of sending this by Fellers our Sutler and he start in a few minutes. I wish you would get me that field glass at Pickering’s if not too late, and you can get it reasonable. He paid $17 for it I believe. I lost mine the day before yesterday on a scout. We made a dash of about 60 miles took 76 prisoners and were 16 hours in the saddle. Rode all night. It did not appear to hurt me at all. Send the glass to George J. Fellers Sutler 4th Mich Cavalry at Detroit. He will be there ten days or a fortnight. Love to all                                 Yours affecly RB.
