Regiment: 1st Michigan Light Artillery Battles Mentioned: Perryville, Kentucky Historical Figures: Camp near Newmarket Ky Oct 24th [          ?          ] Dear sister I received your letter of the 8th this morning and very glad to heer from you I got a letter from you when we was at Louisville I have wrote you this makes four letters since that we had a battle on the 8 at perrysville I think you will see the acount of it in the papers we had one man killed and 6 wounded I think we got off well we had 15 horses killed but old jim and bill is alive yet we are now in camp six miles south of Lebnon bill corys brother was wounded he [    ?    ] but of from me. the fourth mich ca[  ?  ] [  ?  ] here we heer that they are drafting in mich but I hope it is not so I sent dad som money when we [   ?   ] at Louisville cant think of any thing more   tell ma to write write soon direct to Joseph Billingsly Louisville KY in care of Capt C [     ?     ] 3rd divison
