Regiment: 6th Michigan Infantry Battles Mentioned: Historical Figures: Ger General hospittl no 2 vicksburg Mis Aug 28 62 Dear wife I take my pen in hand to write a few lines to let yo no that my health is about the same I doant no but I am gain a verry little I have just comein from meating I have herd to surmans preached [  ?  ] I left home and to that is all I hope thease few lines will find yo all well I recieved your letter dated Aug 10 and was glad to hear from yo but was sorry to hear that Phyannah was sick when I wrote last I sent 20 dollars as soon as yo git it wri te and let me no I would like to come home but I cant sea no chance at preasent our ridgmen t has gon to bufalo or potomick am [  ?  ] has gon with them Dyrect to the hospittle but leaf the ridgment of it is geting dark and I must stop no more at preasent so good by S Babcock [Prayer Card] The Lord bless thee, and keep thee.
