Wilson, George M.

George M. Wilson enlisted in the 1st Michigan Light Artillery Batty E on November 11, 1861 at Marshall, Michigan. He was mustered into service as a 26-year-old Sergeant on December 6. Wilson re-enlisted in the service on December 21, 1863 at Nashville, Tennessee. He received several promotions including: Junior 2nd Lieutenant, March 16, 1864; Senior 2nd Lieutenant, April 25; and, Junior 1st Lieutenant, March 27, 1865. George M. Wilson was discharged from service on July 30 at Jackson, Michigan. After the war, he lived in New Haven, Michigan.
