About the Author
Samuel J. Williams was born on October 13, 1830 and he resided in Selma, Indiana. He enlisted in the 19th Indiana Infantry Company K on July 27, 1861 and was mustered a Captain at the age of 30 on July 29. On September 18, 1862, he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and transferred from Company K to Field and Staff. Williams was promoted to Colonel on October 7. Samuel J. Williams died on May 6, 1864 at Wilderness, Virginia. He was buried at White Cemetery in Selma, Indiana.Documents for this Author:
