About the Author
Lyman G. Buckingham, of Genesee County, Michigan, enlisted as a Wagoner in the 8th Michigan Infantry Company G on September 23, 1861 at Detroit, Michigan. He was mustered into service at the age of 45 that same day. Buckingham was promoted to Commissary Sergeant on December 18, 1862. Lyman G. Buckingham was discharged for disability on February 1, 1863 at Falmouth, Virginia. He died on January 7, 1900 and is buried in Flint, Michigan.Documents for this Author:
