William W. Bass, of St. Joseph County, Michigan, enlisted in the 13th Michigan Infantry Company E on September 20, 1861 at Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was mustered into service as a 20-year old Private on January 17, 1862. On September 20, 1863, Bass was wounded at Chickamauga, Georgia. William W.
